The KitchenAid Superba refrigerator freezer is a 21.6 cubic-foot appliance with the freezer on top of the refrigerator compartment. The model has an automatic ice maker in the freezer compartment that resets manually or by an "on/off" switch. Water travels into the ice maker, which makes ice cubes, which it empties into the ice machine bin. A wire arm tracks the amount of ice in the bin and halts production when the bin is full. Leaving a freezer door open for extended periods makes the ice cubes start to melt and stick to the metal arm. Resetting the ice maker will return it to normal production.
